InstantSettle is a trading name of Legal Applications Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company incorporated in England and Wales (company number 16431407 ).
For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“UK GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (“DPA 2018”) we are the controller of the personal data described in this notice.

2. THE DATA WE COLLECT AND WHERE IT COMES FROM
Identification & contact detail: Names, titles, organisation, emails, sourced directly from the parties or their representatives.
Dispute-related: Brief details of disputes and confidential offers to settle disputes, sourced directly from the parties or their representatives.
3. THE PURPOSES AND LEGAL BASES
Purposes: Operating blind-bid workflow; Collecting user fees; Respond to support requests and maintain dispute records.
Article 6(1)(a) – consent – where the personal data belongs to a user of InstantSettle; Article 6(1)(b) - contract - performance of our agreement with users of InstantSettle’s blind bid platform. Article 6(1)(f) – legitimate interest – operation of InstantSettle’s blind bid platform.
Comply with legal and regulatory obligations (tax, AML, court orders)
Article 6(1)(c) – processing is necessary in order to comply with legal obligations.
4. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR DATA
We will only share your personal data in the following circumstances:
• With the other party to a dispute, in accordance with our Terms of Use.
• With third party suppliers of services for the operation of InstantSettle’s blind bid settlement platform, including technology suppliers providing software support.
• With our professional advisers and insurers.
• With regulatory or governmental authorities if required by law.
We never sell your personal data.
5. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Where our processors or sub-processors are outside the UK, transfers are safeguarded by:
• A UK adequacy decision (e.g. EEA), or
• The International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or UK Addendum to the EU SCCs, together with supplementary measures.
Copies of relevant clauses are available on request.
6. RETENTION
We will only retain your personal information for so long as necessary for the purposes for which we collected it, including for the purposes of complying with any legal, regulatory or accounting requirements.
We will retain your contact details and details any payments you made to us for [six years].
We will retain details of your dispute and any bid submitted for up to [six months].
We may store anonymised or aggregated data indefinitely.
7. YOUR RIGHTS
The Data Protection Act 2018 gives you specific rights around your personal information. For example, you have to be informed about the personal information we hold and what we use it for, you can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, you can ask us to correct any inaccuracies in the personal information we hold, you can ask us to stop sending you direct mail, or emails, or in some circumstances ask us to stop processing your details.
Where we process your personal information as a result of your consent, you may withdraw your consent for such processing at any time, in which case we will no longer process your personal information for the purpose you originally agreed to unless we have another legitimate basis for doing so.
